My Love Story With THE Lipbalm.

Once upon a time, in about 2006, a young girl was gifted a Crabtree & Evelyn Lip Balm that went by the name of "Jojoba Oil". She loved it, and it loved her. However, things took a dark turn when this lip balm decided to slowly decrease in size....... eventually ending in the death of the poor thing. The girl was devastated, she tried desperately to replace her love by trying to find it's descendants at it's home, but it appeared to difficult as none could be found. She tried other kinds of lip balms to fill her void, but none were the same. She even looked all over the globe to find just one that was the same... no such luck. And so, she kept on with her life, never quite forgetting and never quite as happy.

Until, in the glorious month of September in 2014 she found A DESCENDANT AT LAST! All her Christmases had come at once and she thanked all the gods for this magnificent miracle.

Okay, in all seriousness guys, this lip balm is honestly the best i've ever tried and I cannot recommend it enough. And i've tried my fair share. It killed me when it appeared to be discontinued - I even signed myself up to an email notification system in case it ever came back in stock.

It has a really lovely texture, really moisturising yet not slippery like some can get, it doesn't have a bad taste and lasts a long time.

So get your butts to the shops and buy it while it's still there - you might run into me buying about 20 more so I never have to be without it.

Mini Body Washes

I've always loved The Body Shop and their mini body washes are delightful. They lather up really well, the smell payoff is beyond this world and lingers for ages (especially the Moringa one). They have such bright and brilliant colours that look marvellous on any shelf and jazz up your bathroom a little bit. The three I have are the Japanese Cherry Blossom, Strawberry and Moringa ones - they are all fantastic (as you can see i've used a lot of them) and I would really recommend them. While you can get them in larger sizes, to be honest i'd get these smaller ones first because you can try them out and see which you like the best, all at a lower price.

Gloss in Love

Lancome has relatively new lipgloss range out at the moment called "Gloss in Love" and I'm lucky enough to have a box set of four different colours out of the range. This box includes "Violette Paillette", "Pink Carat", "Glitter Mania" and "Under the Spotlight" which are honestly all delicious colours. Normally I would say that anything coral toned is my favourite, but surprisingly out of these four my favourite is Violette Paillette. It is such a gorgeous colour when put on the lips, not too red or pink - it's just right. The formula for these lipglosses is just right too, not sticky, it glides on the lips easily and stays put for around three-four hours. If you aren't too fussed with putting on lipstick, then these are a good substitution as they give the right amount of colour to the lips without being too drying. They would also work well over a lipstick to give it some sparkle, especially Glitter Mania which has less colour payoff than the rest but glitters the most just like the title promises. The dufour applicator of these is unique as it is moulded to shape around your lip, therefore making application easier - especially in the car. The other great thing about this particular box set, not just the lipglosses themselves, is that you get to try out several at once which I love. Also, Emma Watson was the face of this campaign so... why not try it out right? You can't go wrong.

Mint Candy Apple

Essie's Mint Candy Apple is to die for. Seriously, I didn't understand what all the hype was about, but in the end I gave in and bought it... and fell in love. It is the colour of bliss, the colour of the ocean/pool and has me starring at my nails as I type. It doesn't chip for a good 4 days, has a beyond brilliant colour payoff, is really easy to apply and only needs 2 coats. I also believe it suits any season - it's the perfect nail polish. Honestly, do yourself a favour and pick it up... and take loads of selfies - in the pool (like I did, proof is above).

My Lancome Perfume

I've had a couple of Lancome Perfumes for a while now and I thought it was about time to share my thoughts on them.

Magnifique by Lancome: I feel like if a ruby could smell, it would smell like Magnifique. It is a rather grown-up smell, if that makes any sense, it is very definite and knows what it is - no fruity, musky, sweet tones in this one. The bottles lasts for a very long time - it lasted me at least two years wearing it almost every day. It stays on for at least 9 hours and you can still smell it on your clothing after a day at work/school. Worth a try, and it will always have a special place in my heart as my first proper perfume. Oh and Anne Hathaway is the face of it so come on, you have to try it.

Tresor Midnight Rose by Lancome: This perfume smells musky, with a rather sweet tone to it. The packaging is wonderful (I love the rose that is on the top). It'll last you forever - seriously, at least two years. Midnight Rose also lasts on you for at least 9 hours and if you smell your clothing the day after, hints of the smell will still be there. As a side note, i've dropped this a couple of times and it's never broken so that's always a plus!!! Hardy bottles FTW.

My June Bathroom Shelf

I go through a lot of phases when it comes to skin care and I just thought I would tell you about my recent one that i've been using for about two-three months.

First I use the "Gentle Skin Cleanser" by Cetaphil to wash and cleanse my face. It takes off any makeup and seems to clean my face well. If I have heavy makeup on, it will take a bit of scrubbing to get off and maybe two pumps of the Cetaphil but it does work. It's easy, better than plain soap and inexpensive. Here it is if you'd like to buy it.

Secondly, I use St. Ives "Green Tea Scrub" as an exfoliator. This stuff is great, it comes out in a heavy green paste and only a small amount (maybe three peas worth, size wise) is needed to cover the entire face. You gently rub it in and there are little beads that exfoliate your skin, you can also leave it on for longer to exfoliate even more. I use it about three times a week and it appears to be working rather well. This is it here and it's also rather inexpensive and smells like green tea which is soothing :)

Finally, a christmas present from this year was "Cranberry Joy Body Scrub"  from The Body Shop and I have recently started using it. I use a small amount about once or twice a week, place it on my body and using a sponge thingy (one of these) I work it into my skin. It comes out as a thin gooey consistency with little beads in it, but scrubs up to become white and foamy. This scrub moisturises like heaven, smells like Christmas and is great all round. However, it was limited edition at Christmas, so is gone now but may be back at the end of the year - so keep you eye out! However, do not despair, The Body Shop has several other body scrubs just like this one that you can get currently.

I hope this has helped you a little bit, or given you some inspiration for creating your own skin/shower regime :)

How to scent your PJs 101

Soap and Glory have some bloody amazing offerings (unfortunately we only have so many in our shops in Australia)! I bought Flake Away around four months ago and I am nearly finished with it now so I thought i'd tell you all about it.

Can I just say how GOOD this smells!?!? Honestly, it smells like a perfume and it lingers!!! If you use this scrub at night and then put on your pj's, not only will your skin smell of it, but so will you pj's - for the next three days!!!! (I seriously recommend this - who wouldn't want to smell gorgeous for ages!?).

The scrub itself isn't sticky, it's more of a runny consistency, and it has lots of scrub bead type thingies in it that you massage into your skin and once they are gone you are finished exfoliating - clever aye!? As for whether this scrub actually works well as an exfoliator, the jury is still out. I would buy this again, purely for the smell, but I do think other exfoliators I have used have worked better - but in saying that, this doesn't do a bad job!

If you want to check this out (even if purely for the smell), click here!
